road trip with J and T

I should know better than to plan a project with a
12 and 13 year old. My great idea was to do a
Where in the World are Jed and Tony series on this road trip

I'm a dreamer,
I'm out of touch with boy reality,
I'm old.

J and T were far from cooperative
for the hokey touristy pics.
So I snapped and if they happened to get in a frame???

We left Northwest Washington at 1 a.m.
before 8 a.m.
45 minutes later:
wasn't that fun?

Prior to Idaho the boys and G-pa all slept, and I drove.
I tried not to practice shooting while driving,
the sunrise and crossing the Columbia were a great
temptation but I couldn't reach my camera. :-(

So here we are in Big Sky Country

a Montana barn for Barn Charm
see barns from all over at:

Been meaning to go here for years:

In the park at a pull out there were several cars and people looking up and pointing at this mountain, so of course we stopped to see what the attraction was.
An older gentleman (yes older than me) was pointing and explaining the location of the bear he spotted, no one could see it with their binoculars, telephoto lenses and the like but he insisted it was here:
Lots of good-natured chuckles when said gentleman finally proclaimed it was a rock. Oblivious to all this, 12 year old T says "I just saw a bear walk this way to the woods." here:

on the Going to the Sun Road which they graciously finished snow plowing and opened the day before we got there

We were down there.

East side of the park,

more to come....
